After School English
It’s not just about learning English, but it’s learning “IN” English.
Taught by native speaking teachers who also teaches the Morning class.
Every lesson is like a mini field trip abroad.
Submerge your child/ren in a full English environment and think/ wonder/ explore/ learn/ express and have fun in English!
Class Schedule (School Year of 2022)
Kindergarten / Preschool (3 yrs old and up):
3:30pm – 5:30pm *
2 days minimum of your choice: Mondays/ Tuesdays/ (Wednesdays)/ Thursdays/ Fridays.

Generally days of the week of the classes are fixed and the level slides up every year.
Kindergarten / Preschool Class
In a 100% English environment, we nurture students’ English listening ability. Students familiarize themselves with alphabets and phonics through singing, playing games, and worksheets.
We encourage students to communicate in English with their classmates. This approach helps students start to think and try to express their feelings all in English.
Class Flow (Example)
15:30~ Conversation Time (Greetings, Date and weather, mood, name etc.)
16:00~ Activity Time (Games, Songs, Dance, and Craft making according to events)
16:30~ Snack Time
16:55~ Worksheet Time (Familiar subjects in life, such as weather, season, body parts etc.)
Students will be working on worksheets tailored to their level of English.
Wednesdays will be mainly worksheets, snack, and free play
Child/ren who have completed potty training
1st Grade Elementary School Class
Once students have established the basics of alphabet recognition and phonics in the kindergarten/ preschool class, they begin their reading book homework.
In addition to daily greetings and self-introduction, teachers encourage students to express their feelings verbally through daily lessons.
There is also a workbook time tailored to your child's level.
Teacher: How are you today?
Student: I’m Happy.
Teacher: Why are you happy?
Student: I’m happy because I went to the park.
2nd Grade Elementary School Class
Student will be able to read books smoothly and begin to learn grammar and spelling. It becomes more common to see spontaneous conversations not only with teachers but also with classmates.
Teacher: What did you do last week?
Student: I won 2nd place in a sports day event last weekend.
Student: Ms. R! Today I came to BKI by bicycle.
Class Flow (Example)
15:30~
Read the homework book out loud to the teacher and occasional spelling tests.
Conversation Time (Greetings, Date and weather, mood, share incidents from the past few days etc.)
16:00~ Activity Time (Craft Making and Games: Four Corners, Simon Says, Museum Statue, Musical Statue etc. )
16:30~ Snack Time
16:55~ Workbook Time (Each student will be given a fun and interesting workbook to work on throughout the year.)
Homework: Book Reading, and Spelling test preparation
3rd Grade Elementary School Class
In this class, students work on enhancing their communication skills through discussions, accumulating more vocabularies, studying grammars, and spellings.
If the class members are interested, they can also begin work on Computer Coding Projects.
Level: EIKEN Grade 3
Student: Guess what this is. It ’s square, some are 25 meters, some are even longer or larger.
BKI Staff: Hum… What could it be. Can you give me some more clues?
Student: Okay. You can exercise in it.
BKI Staff: Oh! Is it a swimming pool?
Student: Yes, you ’re right!

4th Grade Elementary School Class
Research-Project-Based Class
Students select a topic of their interest and work on group projects (Photo: The Savanna Project)
Expand the range of expressions by coming up with creative English riddles,
They are now in the level where they can easily pop out English jokes.
Example) Making a large poster about animals that live in the savanna
Example) Create a poster on ant hierarchy and roles
Level: Eiken Grade Pre-2
Jr. High School Class
Develop reading comprehension through reading novels and build up on the delivery skills through presentations.
Assignment books: “Everything Everything” etc.
Topics: Environmental pollution, environmental protection, etc.
Level: EIKEN Grade 2
High School Class
Students are now at the level where they can discuss topics where there are no right or wrong answers. Their English skills evolve to the point where they can be involved in open discussions and presentations with English-speaking students. Also, it will prepare them for university entrance examinations at home and abroad.
Now a days, presentation skills are essential in the society. BKI children are working hard to aim for a high application ability and presentation skills.
Topics: What is a healthy lifestyle? etc.
Level: EIKEN Grade Pre-1

Computer Coding Class
BKI now also teaches computer coding classes for 7 to 12 year olds. Hands on, interactive Ipad apps teach your child how to animate various cartoon characters to make their own animated cartoon strips. This is a University designed and approved program. The follow on from this class then extends into coding that involves constructing various mechanical devices to make them operate. Learning for the Future has never been such Great fun!
